It’s a Girl…two of them!!!!!

It’s official. Zhanna Natalya and Elena Catherine are officially Henderson’s

The very very very nice judge, with no objection from the district attorney nor from the representatives of the Ministry of Education has waived the ten day wait!!!!

We are waiting for Sean and Sandy to finish their court appearance and then we are off to start the paperwork that will get the girls passports with their new last names so that we can leave Chita on Wednesday

Meanwhile, we have just learned that Zhanna is playing the part of a goose in the fall play at the baby home, we are begging them to let us video tape the event…

More soon, for now we must go jump around with joy!

Update:

Sandy and Sean got their ten day wait waived as well!

We just got off the phone with the airlines and so now we are all set for big ole’ bulk head seats flying arriving home on Sunday the 11th!!! Woohoo

The rest of the day was spent running errands. The key documents, birth certificates listing the girls new full names and adoption certificates are complete and the girls photos for their Russian passport applications , which we submitted this afternoon.

Now a weekend of rest and celebration.

On Monday we get to visit the girls in the morning and Tuesday we are going to get to be in the audience of the fall play so we can admire Zhanna’s skill at being a goose!

We’ll pick up the girls passports on Tuesday afternoon. Then Wednesday morning it’s up up in the air for the girls first flight- 6 hours from Chita to Moscow.

Wednesday afternoon we’ll have medical exams for the children in order to fulfill the requirments for US immigration.

Thursday is the application to the embassy. Then Friday we have interviews with INS. Saturday is a day off then Sunday our well traveled girls board the flight to Chicago with us-10 hours of crazy crazy good times!

Pantry Check – 12/10/09

We're full on into winter here in Chicago - slushy snow falls from the sky at this very moment. This big OLD house has a bit of the drafty to it, the 115 year old radiators are chugging away (cherubs and scroll work are nice and hot to the touch) but it always help to crank up the ten burner stove and the two ovens when ever there is a good opportunity.

Check the post "Saturday Soup Day" for the four recipes and roasted Chicken that kept our house warm and toasty for the day and is keeping our tummies warm and toasty all week long with meals a plenty.
