The Cluttered Pantry

We’ve just heard from a couple who traveled for their first trip to Chita the week before we did. Their son is actually at a different baby home, but they are being helped by the same fabulous team of Katia and Eugene and will be going to court with the same judge we will.

So, the exciting news is that they have been told they are traveling on Septmber 8th for their big trip to bring their son home! We are super excited for them.

All things being equal the calendar math shows that this pace means we should be traveling on the 29th of September or possibly as early as the 22nd!! Of course this is all just speculation. But at this point keeping busy with calendar bingo is a good way to keep distracted from missing the girls so much….

Meanwhile the final stage of nursery/playroom construction is being finished by the men made of dirt. The space is amazing and now the light from the front windows fills the room. As Judith likes to say “we heart that.”

The social security form issue seems to be solved, and at this point we have one last major document to complete and tickets for the flights (gaaaa did you know that 2 year olds need their own seats on the plane?! 4 tickets from Moscow to Chicago on top of the Chicago to Moscow for the 2 of us and the flights to Siberia for 2 and back for 4….we just knew we should have bought a plane last year-surely would have been cheaper than these flights!)
